A 3D building object can be represented basically with four LOD levels at each stage of the building construction. The current paper concentrates not only on the construction of 3D buildings with extrusions but also compares the various levels of details in two different BIM based 3D softwares namely ESRI City Engine and Revit Architecture. Since It Is Extremely Important To Select Suitable Software To Perform The Analysis And Design In Building Tasks, With The Existence Of Much-Specialized Software In These Domains, In This Paper, Based On The Investigations Performed Especially For The Last Decade Developments And Added Capabilities, A Guideline For Architects And Engineers Is Presented.
